That’s a great one. The unconscious mind can control almost everything in our actions. Many people saw the unconscious mind as a muscle that can be developed or exercised based on the picture of ourselves we want.

Another great piece. Well explained. The idea that awareness is the first step to progress is powerful.

There is so much to uncover to be close to a lover. It seems like having the courage to express real vulnerability to your lover, knowing they are human and imperfect is the level of faith and trust required for true love. Not surprisingly, real community and friends who know you and care need a somewhat detached involvement in order to support that level of trust and care, unconditionally. To navigate the brutality of childhood trauma and come to the place of love and faith is a journey you identify here. This is affirming.

Great article Zahra. When I was reading your article, I initially thought that you were talking about the subconscious mind. But I think there is a difference. Where do you think the linkage is between the two?

Very well-written article. Although might I suggest editing the part that says Freud "discovered" the subconscious. I agree that he was one of the first to bring the term to light that doesn't mean that Freud discovered the reality of the subconscious as many philosophers discussed the concept in the centuries before Freud.
