I know from my own life that depending on my mood/affect, I can sometimes be a bit more or less charitable with people and more or less likely to give them the benefit of the doubt or assume they have done something that haven't, as the woodcutter did with the kid he think stole his ax.
It's remarkable to think that even the most rational and "objective" of us can be the most swayed by our emotions and preexisting biases.
